Play Poker on TV – You Can Do it Today

September 15th, 2006

Ever dreamed of playing poker on national television? Having your game commented by experienced poker players who get to see all players’ hole cards? Seeing your creative plays displayed in open, admired by commentators and fellow players alike? I did it last week and you can actually do it today. If today is a Friday, that is. Cold Cards Hot Dice – Poker Player’s Vice

September 8th, 2006

“I had cold cards”. Isn’t that the lamest excuse you can hear from poker players busting out of a tournament? Well, sometimes it may actually be the truth. Yesterday the weekly Wednesday tournament was played at the local casino. Since today is Thursday that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Tomorrow it’s Friday but that’s another story. Casino Security Authority on Players’ Side (?)

September 1st, 2006

In the current online gambling frenzy, site security generally causes no problems. We deposit cash, play the games and withdraw whatever cash is left without much thought of any problems that might appear in the process. Nevertheless, problems surely are not an unthinkable phenomenon in connection with money transfers over the Internet to people you do not know. Read the rest of this entry »

The Shortest Poker Chat Ever

August 4th, 2006

It is nice to sit down and play some poker. Most of the time, the chat is pretty silent. People focus on the game (I guess they have seen Phil Ivey on TV), and I’m sure the majority play multiple tables simultaneously, so there isn’t that much to time for conversation. Another Shot at the Millionaires Club Jackpot

July 28th, 2006

I notice that the gigantesque jackpot at InterCasino is still up for the taking. At the time of writing the jackpot display reads $3,699,441. This would certainly pay more than just a few parking tickets, even I must admit that. Read the rest of this entry »

He who laughs first, laughs last

July 18th, 2006

Occasionally I play poker against my fellow work colleagues. Usually we play Texas Holdem but last week someone came up with the idea that we should try Omaha instead. Since many co-workers didn’t know how to play Omaha, there where a lot of murmuring like: “why”, “I don’t wanna”, “bah” “humbug”, and “nuts” going on. Finally we ended up with only three players.

Wild Swings for a Lone Gambler

June 30th, 2006

Casino tournaments have always exercised a special attraction on me. You’re no longer alone against the “edgy” house. You get to compete against your fellow citizen for a while. Nice change for a lone gambler.

My Next Career Move: Millionaire’s Club

June 8th, 2006

To tell you the truth, slots is not my strongest game. But, hey, how could anyone not play slots when there’s a record breaking jackpot sitting there waiting for a taker?! I just had to give the Millionaire’s Club a shot. I mean, the $3 million would pay at least half of my parking tickets.

The value of having fun

June 2nd, 2006

The casino player community is as diversified as a deck of cards stacked with jokers. Some know for sure they have the capability to predict roulette spins – under the right conditions, that is. Others know about safe systems for craps or blackjack or any other casino game including Keno. A few are convinced that casino gambling is a waste of time since the house always has the edge.

Pope mobile on grand tour

May 29th, 2006

The purchase by GoldenPalace.com of the pope’s old car is such a great story. Imagine this 21 year old guy in the south of Germany, carrying out his civil service, who bought a used car to travel to his girlfriend or who knows why. The seller makes some kind of allusion about him going to drive a truly blessed car, but not until he comes home and browse through the registration documents does he notice the name of the previous owner, Joseph Ratzinger – later pope Benedict XVI.
